Etude House Play 101 Pencil 41

I first bought Etude House Play 101 Pencil shades 12 and 16 (reviewed here), then went back for shades 3, 15 and 25 (reviewed here). These pencils are so addicting that I want to collect them all. For now, I’ve bought and am reviewing shades 27 and 41.

Etude House Play 101 Pencil #27 is a medium pink with gold glitters. As it has a glitter finish, it is recommended for use as an eye shadow or eye liner. Etude House Play 101 Pencil #27 has a smooth texture and it glides easily without tugging on the eyes. The glitters are not too chunky therefore the finish is very pretty and there are minimal, if any, fallouts.

Etude House Play 101 Pencil 27 Swatch

Even without a primer, Etude House Play 101 Pencil #27 didn’t smudge. It dried quite fast, so you’ll have to be quick if you need to blend it before it completely sets. On my oily lids, Etude House Play 101 Pencil #27 didn’ t crease at all and was surprisingly long-lasting.

In the photo near the end of this post, I used Etude House Play 101 Pencil #27 as a light wash of color for the entire eye lid area, as well as on the undereye area. It lasted around 6-7 hours on me and it was very easy to remove using an eye makeup remover.

Etude House Play 101 Pencil #41 has a glittery finish as well and it is recommended for use as an eye shadow, eye liner or eyebrow pencil. It is a medium tan, almost ash brown with just a little amount of micro glitters.

Etude House Play 101 Pencil 41 Swatch

I believe that Etude House Play 101 Pencil #41 had been really intended for use as an eyebrow pencil because of its color. It also applies smoothly and really well on the brows. Etude House 101 Pencil #41 dries fairly fast and is also long-lasting.

In the photo below, I used Play 101 Pencil #41 to lightly line my eyebrows. It was able to coat the eyebrows in almost the same way as how brow mascaras do. It lasted around 7 to 8 hours on me and it was also very easy to remove using an eye makeup remover.

Etude House Play 101 Pencils 27 and 41 Swatch

The Etude House Play 101 Pencils come with a built-in sharpener at the other end of the pencil. To get more product out, all you have to do is twist the colored part at the end of the pencil where the sharpener is housed. Then use the hidden sharpener if you need to sharpen the tip.
